After a few years of dating, and a whole lot of 'hint dropping' we became engaged in February 2007. He popped the question in my messy college apartment, I instantly said 'YES!' then we headed to Wal-Mart so I could buy my first bridal magazine. Romantic, eh?
We graduated college and set our wedding date for May 24, 2008. Little did we know the months leading up to the wedding wouldn't be all sunshine and glitter. March 1st I lost my hero/grandmother to a 6 year battle with ovarian cancer. Sometimes I wish we'd set our wedding date earlier so that she could've been there because God knows I would've given up all the glitz and glamour just to see her face in the front pew beaming at me. Then, to make things even less 'glittery', Kevin was laid off from his job. Thank you economy. Regardless of both happenings, May 24th came and was nothing less than amazing. How could anything bother me when I was marrying the man of my dreams?
After returning from the honeymoon we settled into our apartment in TN (we'd moved from VA) and found jobs. We enjoyed all that is newlywed-ness and then decided it was time to buy our first home. In October 2009 we purchased a 2 bedroom townhouse which we think is perfect for our first home.
We stopped TTA getting pregnant in March then actively started TTC in May. After months of 'not pregnant' test results, we FINALLY saw two pink lines the night of November 20, 2009! We were pregnant!! We decided to keep it a secret from our families until Christmas Eve for my parents and Christmas morning for his. Needless to say, it was a VERY exciting Christmas.
Elaina Rose was born at 2:09 pm on July 23, 2010. She weighed 7lb 9oz and was 20" long. The moment she was born we discovered true love...then we discovered it again the next day, and the next day, and the day after that...
Now we're a family of 3 and don't plan on adding another for about 4 or so years. We enjoy simple things, VT and Saints football, family dinners, trips to the grandparents, and shopping...okay, maybe I'm alone on that last one.
